Professional Liability Protection
NEA Educators Employment Liability Program
Eligible UFF members receive professional liability protection through the NEA Educators Employment Liability Program. The program provides coverage for certain claims arising from a member’s educational employment activities.
- Up to $1 million per member, per occurrence for covered claims other than civil-rights claims
- Up to $300,000 per member, per occurrence for covered civil-rights claims
- Up to $3 million per member, per occurrence in covered legal-defense costs for claims other than civil-rights claims
- Up to $35,000 in attorney-fee reimbursement for a covered criminal proceeding
The current policy applies to covered occurrences between September 1, 2026, and September 1, 2027. Coverage is subject to the complete policy’s definitions, exclusions, conditions, reporting requirements, and limits.
